Sometimes people need to know a little more about me besides yarnbombing for professional reasons or just curiosity . Here is an informal resume that strives to be useful yet anonymous .
Resume
I grew up in Rochester , N . Y . I have degrees in ceramics from The School of American Craftsman In Rochester , N .Y. and from The California College Of Crafts in Oakland , Ca . I had a ceramics studio for 15 years and showed and sold my ceramics at The American Craft Enterprise Shows in Baltimore , West Springfield and San Francisco . I also showed in many galleries and stores - Freehand Gallery , L . A . , The High Museum of Art , Atlanta , The Craft and Folk Art Museum ,The Memorial Art Gallery , Rochester, N. Y . , The Virginia Brier Gallery , Neiman Marcus and 300 more .
I stopped wanting to do production ceramics and closed my ceramics business . I decided I would rather teach for my living and make my art for myself . I opened a small textile school and have taught knitting , spinning , weaving , crocheting , natural dyeing . I now teach feltmaking and surface design .
My textiles have been shown in ” Bead International 2008 ” , “ Beyond Basketry ” at The Dairy Barn , “ 500 Felted Objects ” , Lark books and Interweave Knits .
Teaching
I love to teach and have taught an interesting array of human activities . I taught Breema Bodywork at Mills College , Oakland Ca . , The Experimental College at U . C . Davis and for the UC. Berkeley Rec program . I also taught at The Breema Institute in Oakland , Ca.
I taught sea kayaking , white water kayaking and open water rowing at UC Berkeley Out door Recreation for 10 years ..
