A Knitted installation In San Rafael, Ca.

29 Dec

At Dharma Trading there was a pole next to a little bike rack and we covered them both with knitting. It’s great to put knitting in front of a knitting store , if their customers don’t notice it- than no one will. The 2 pieces look like they are friends ready to go off skiing. Everyone going by said ” How cute!’ I don’t usually like this word ” cute”.  No, I think, this is street art, it’s a knitting comment on the world, it’s to make you stop for a moment and notice life, it’s supposed to make you think about where art should be- but this particular installation? It is cute , it is , I admit it.

I love that you go to all the places I would be if I was not tied to my desk. Thank you for taking me along.
